Default Is this right?

When you press the gas pedal with the key in the 'On' position (engine not running) and pump the gas pedal, do the injectors inject fuel into the engine? I am unfamiliar with the CIS system. I would like to know because when I hold the gas pedal down for 1 minute before I start the engine in cold weather, it seems to start a bit easier. What is going on?

This is my understanding...

No, the CIS injectors are driven mechanically by the metering head on top of the airbox. Takes airflow over the airflow plate for them to work.

Carbs you can actually pump the pedal, and get fuel from the bowl(s) into the engine.

EFI cars need an electric signal to inject fuel.
