Default Possible bad DV

Ok, heres the situation. I think I might have a bad diverter valve. When I first bought the car the valve was bad and cause stalling when coming to stop lights and general poor performance. What happens now: every now and then part throttle(registering vacuum) cruising goes to ****, I have to depresses the throttle more to maintain speed and exhaust temperature rises to 1350*F and above. So i switch the ignition off and back on then the throttle response goes back to normal. This could also be the throttle position sensor going bad maybe. But when this is happening I can also hear increased suction sound coming from the engine( I have a cone air filter so blow off and intake is alot louder than stock). Any ideas?

Default I think you're right.

My wife's car, a 1st gen Eagle Talon TSi AWD is showing the same symptoms. Step on the gas, it goes nowhere, hear a loud air sucking noise than wasn't there before. Acceleration disappeared.
It used to snap your head back.
The BPV is the likely suspect.
