Last night we were able to get the new motor to spin all the way. It was kinda weird, as it hit TDC it came to an abrupt stop, then once we got the breaker bar out and put alot into it, the motor spun. Made this snapping noise, but then it was free to spin. No idea what that was, maybe we should pull the pan off and see if something was jammed? Everything seems fine now.
Anyway, on to the next question - the motor we got has different bushings where the block meets the bell housing - probably cause it came off a manual trans car. One is correct but the other is this fat bushing that wont mate up to the bell housing. Looks like these bushings line up the trans to the block. If I take the fat one out there will be only 1. Think this is a problem? I could probably go get another one at the dealer. I think these are for ease of installation, cause the bolts hold the trans to the block.. any ideas on how to get the old bushing out?
