Rear Muffler....

Hello Audi fans! On my Audi 100, 5cyl, non turbo the rear muffler is very noisy and it's been like that for the last 2 years. I guess the internal elements are rattling when the car is cold the noise comes from them. On the outside it looks good(no rust). Lately the car is even noisier(due to exhaust), so i decided to replace the muffler since it is a split assembly and i can do it myself. (btw, my cat is brand new and my middle muffler is 2 years old only) I found an ALMOST new rear muffler, OEM part(Audi/VW brand) but it is on Audi 5000, '85. I belive it is non turbo model. My question is if this muffler will fit my car? My car is a few years newer model but both cars a non turbo models(2.2L engine and 2.3L). Is it a good idea to put this muffler on my car? I don't want to restrict the exhaust flow by doing something wrong. Thanks for the help!

85-91 are the same for the N/A 5000/100's and should fit I believe. Check for this part number #443-253-609T
