Default Sooo, in my never-ending quest to try and get a reliable head unit...

...I have a line on a Traffic Pro I, with the red illumination, that I want to use to replace my Gamma.

VR_Life and zwoobah have done this swap, but with TPII, from my STFA attempts. Guys: The unit in question is a 7880 model number - is it gonna plug right up to my speakers and stuff without me having to swap the speakers? I read that you had to do a bit of harness work, but that's just details.

The price is pretty good, and I think time is limited.

Default Don't do it - 7880 is not compatible with US maps

From time to time there are cheap Canadian or Euro units on eBay. Avoid. You want a 47xx series TP1 or the TP2, make sure it comes with maps.

Default For the cost, it might be good as just s stinkin' radio/CD player.

I don't really care about nav - I'm old-skool about paper maps and **** like that. (I worked for a GPS manufacturer once - Corvallis Microtechnology. I like the tech, but don't need it in my car.)

So, the question becomes still - does it it plug up to my Bose crap?

Default I've always found the stock radio works best....

I've got two spare Delta radios in case this one goes down!

Default Yeah - I just don't want the $1k+ stereo swap.

Well, probably not that much, but my time is worth something, too.
