Default Transmission out. Holy hell this sucker is going to be fun to put back in...

Overall the removing went awefully smooth but the big hangup was I didn't know or understand how the shift linkage came off until Steve and I finally searched the forum and found it. I'd say removing that bastard could have easily been the toughest part of getting the thing out - because everything else was pretty easy. Only other issue was I got sidetracked and forgot to unplug the VS sensor on the drivers side. It's held in the trans by plastic clips and it pulled right out of the trans. Sensor didn't appear to be damaged although I don't quite know...I just popped it back in and I'll hope for the best.

Clutch really didn't look too bad - still had about 1/8 inch of material on it, but both the pressure plate and the flywheel are scorched from it slipping like crazy when it was cold. I guess maybe the pressure plate was just loosing its clamping force and could hold the torque.

Fun fun putting this thing back in in a week or so...

Default What's kinda stupid is....

They could have engineered it as a two-piece shaft that seperated so the splined part could come out easier. Total PIA.
