Default fun stuff: chime is on all the time

Here's my problem: the chime is on all the time. Sometimes it's loud and sometimes it's soft, but it's always there. Whether I'm parked or driving, as long as the car is being used in some capacity, it's on.

To clarify: I'm talking about the chime that sounds when you leave your headlights on or open the driver's door while the keys are in the ignition.

I know this issue was discussed briefly before. But does anyone have an explanation for why this is happening and how I might fix it?

TIA,
Dave

Default I'd start with the ignition switch.

Default how do i access the speaker? i might just unplug it for now...

researching the ignition switch is definitely a weekend project, but the chime has got to stop today.

as a humorous side note: it appears that the chime speaker is the only speaker that's currently functioning in my car. gotta love the bose sound system.

Default Could be. And if so, be prepared for alarm weirdness.
