Default Climate Control Error Codes

Ladies and Gents,

On my recent trip to FL, I began getting alternating CC codes 15.5 and 15.7. Upon some STFA action, it appears that one of my air flap motors is going. But which one? More importantly, what is the part # and approximate cost of it and difficulty of replacement? Thanks!

Default The list of codes used to be on www.12v.org but that site seems to ....

be dead. So from my wisely saved hard copy:

15.5 = Air Flow Flap, static block, see (*15.5)

15.7 = Air Flow Flap, sporadic block

*15.5 = Motor is cycled; software attempts to elimate block

I think this is for the flap that you can access from the engine bay by removing the plenum/cowl cover.

Default There are a few hints at Chris Miller's 200 20V pages. The cars are ...

not the same but there could enough similariites to be useful.

Default Your lucky. It's the backpressure flap. Located in the plenum tray on the ac unit (not hvac unit).

Take motor out, clean the collectors from coal dust with a needle. The Bosch units has that production fault. On my car i've cleaned all 4 Bosch units (2 center console, 1 hvac unit, 1 ac unit) and they are working fine.
