So I found a set of 5 older OZ SL's with 50% remaining HTR+ tires for $900.

Do you guys think that's a good deal assuming they check out and are not cracked?

The alternative is 4 NEW SL's for $999, but then I have to get tires.

They are pretty underwhelming tires, and that second half of their life is probably even more so. Personally I think half used tires add nothing to the value of a set of used rims.

mine came with potenzas and I was told they had only 15,000 miles on em, but when I got them the side walls were so worn the cords were sticking out in spots, have em checked out, if they are not gun metal(anthracite) they prolly are not cracked. I don't think I will ever again buy used car parts cause they always end up costing me way more in the end cause they need repair or replace, if the tires are bad, get the new wheels. what size are they? what offset, some older wheels come in ET32, but its a fine fit

Evan, if you can buy new for only $100 more, that is a safer idea, Falken makes some great tires for great price, I got 4 225/40-18 for $620 all inclusive w/ warranty for anything

but then again, gun metal is a cool color and no longer available, tuff decision
