why spend so much money modding your S4 and not drive it all the time? I drive mine everyday and she's been good. I got stranded once 3 days after taking ownership when fuel the pump died. I have been keeping up with maintenance and regular visual check and inpection to stay ahead of future issues.
sell the 90 and get some RS2 goodies.

I have put 30K miles on mine driving it everyday since 05/15/04 and have enjoyed every minute of it.

I really don't get the garage queen / weekend car aspect of these cars that some of you guys see. They're practical cars, with all of the daily driving compromises made already. If you didn't want a daily driver, what are you doing with an S-car? Get something less practical!
I've driven mine nearly every day I've had it. It hasn't been any more trouble than previous cars I've had. And when stuff needs to be replaced, I don't feel bad about spending the money on this car, unlike an old beater that you know is only a few months or years from being junked, or a boring commuter that is nothing but an expense.

I alternate between the Coupe and the S. I would never consider owning just the S car as a daily driver. I do my own maintenance and often times do not have the time to immediately attend to things that break. If your car is heavily modded and driven hard, things are going to break. If your schedule allows immediate time to fix things, or if you can be without the car, or if you have a shop that will fix things quickly, then you can use the car for a daily driver without risk.
When something on any of our cars isn't right, we park it and drive the spare until I have the time to fix the problem. No rush; order the right parts, and install them whenever they arrive. I don't want to have to drive around with a bad coilpack hoping my cat will hang in there while I find time to deal with the problem. Last winter the Coupe was in a fender bender. I pulled it into the garage and left it until I was able to source used parts and install them. No problem. This year I blew out a tire on the S car...a tire no longer produced. The car was down for a week while I sourced a tire. No problem. I find a spare car more of a necessity than a luxury. My wife drives 600+ miles per week in her 1999 A6 with 165k on it. I drive to work every day (short drive but a long walk). For us, a spare car is variety as well as part of the cost of owning an older Audi (or two)
