Default Power point under bonnet??

Strange question i'm sure but I bought one of those Rust Envader electronic rust protector things. Supposed to mount it on either side of the engine bay under the hood. Unfortunately the battery is obviously under the back seat and the wires will never ever reach plus to extend the wires and hide them under the carpeting seems like a major job! So I was wondering if there is a point under the hood where I could connect the unit? Any ideas?

Thanks

Default Well, on my A6 there's

a positive connection under a little plastic box with a + on it. It sits near the upper part of the firewall on the pass. side. There is an engine ground connection by the pass. side engine mount. I dunno if this is the best way of doing things, but a suggestion none the less. :-)

Default Have you done any research to see how the component reacts with galvanized

surfaces? I'd sure hate to have it start converting the factory galvanization (zinc) and cause more problems than it prevents.

I didn;t think of that at all!! : (
Maybe I should try and return it if they'll let me. I don't have any rust except for under the windscreen seal where the galvanizing was damaged from a botch windscreen replacement. I have had the rust repaired and thought the electronic rust protector might help prevent it from resurfacing.

I have no idea what it would do to the zinc galvanizing!!

Default It's possible that your device may enhance the protection ..or....

it may cause problems. Surely the manufacturer could provide pertinent info about the matter.
