Default Odd result to engine temp. after oil change and part change.

Yesterday I changed the oil and also had a new oil cooler seal for my ongoing oil drip behind the cooler. I opened the cooling lines on the cooler, coolected the coolant and examined the hoses/lines which were clean. I changed the oil, oil cooler seal and physically cleaned the cooler. After reassembling all I notice that the car runs warm, more at a temp which I would consider normal.

I can't understand why this would affect the over all temp other than thinking if it were airbound. I am at the exact coolant level that I started with once I replaced the drained coolant.

Hey marcogyver, haven't seen yoo in a while....... You should be more frequent on this board. Anyway, did you make sure you got the water to coolant mixture right when you filled it back up? I hope you blead the air out of the system or that could have caused your problem as well. One of the bleeder screws is behind the driver's side valve cover on the coolant line running to the head. I am on vacation right now so I may not be able to reply for a little while.

Good Luck!

Default Thanks for the reply. I've been traveling for work the past couple of months, working quite late

and to be honest...dialup in the hotel is just a killer. I haven't been on the forums as much.

My mixture hasn't changed because I recirculated the little bit of coolant that came out so there wasn't any mixing. Initially the overflow was too high so I know it was airbound but after idling the level dropped and adding the leftover (drained) coolant the level was right back where I started. I was going to bleed the system but it was dusk and couldn't locate the bleeders. I might have to give it a shot when I get back in state.
