anyone want an 016 tranny?
i have done the o16 tranny swap in my cq and the guy who did it has 6 more. he will sell them as a kit for the cq,(with the shortened driveshaft, throw bearing, etc.) they are all 1984 trannies so they have the short gear ratios. email me if anyone is interested. dief17@msn.com
also i did this swap because my tranny went bad, and the o16 is much more durable. i used an aluminum flywheel (10lbs.) and a spec clutch (10lbs). the STOCK assembly i believe weighs 49.5 lbs so i noticed a huge difference along with the shortend gear ratios. the final drive for the o16 is 4.11:1 just like the 7a(our stock tranny)

no, we already have 6-8 that we race including my AudiSport 016
not a "real" AudiSport but an '84 016 with 1st-4th gears custom-made/hardened to AudiSport ultra-close ratio gearbox specs and an 073:1 5th gear so its not so buzzy at highway speeds. But a 1st gear thats good to about 45MPH@7k/51MPH@8k.
