Default 2001 Allroad - about to pull the trigger - two questions

Great forum, I have been lurking from the URS4-6 forum for awhile and have spent some time reading about Tip lag, H sports, third row seats, etc! It seems like many of you have gone down that slippery slope with modifications, does it ever end!?

I finally think I found an allroad for my wife

2001, Silver/Black, 32,000K miles, $26K, build date 10/00 with Nav, Premium, and Convenience package, excellent condition.

No third seat or Stick, two options I thought of however, will pass on. My S6 has these, so she can drive my car if she needs a third seat and deal with the MT.

I plan on installing the Dahlback ECU upgrade from my tuner, TJM in NH.

My two questions, what do you think of this deal and for those of you who have upgraded to Dahlback or an equivlent and have a TIP, what are your impressions?

thanks

Default Troy, what do you think? :-)

As far as price goes, i'll let Troy answer that, i'm not familiar with prices.
Dahlback is a reputable and reliable ECU tuner, and those who have it will tell you how much they like it. Come on guys, tell him...

Default Get the package deal from Dahlback - ECU + Tip chip

and one word would explain it: impressive!

Dahlback ECU chip comes at different levels so you may have to make a decision about the level of performance = $$ to be spend.

Talk to Randy from TJM (the owner), he is a great Guy to work with, he will tell you everything you'll need to know and help you to make the RIGHT decison.

Driving impressions on the Dahlback IC are smooth, powerfull over the entire RPM bandwidth, excellent acceleration even with a TIP.
Not sure about any (possible) Turbo lag (I'm running DP's so there is none).

Good Luck with your mods ;-)

Default Nav will bump the price up, and that's very low miles for a 5 year old car. He can...

probably barter it down just a bit, but if he "must" have it.....

Default Fair enough. It all comes down to whether you "must" have it...

That about sums it up.

Default Most important feature..

I've met Randy of TJM.. and this is the most important aspect of an ECU mod.. service nearby.
TJM is up at the top level of service and technology. You can't go wrong if they are behind you.

Default TJM does quality work

And they know Audis, Tim used to have a heavily modded 2.2 I5.

Paulroad are you in NH?

I am in VT, and know TJM well as I put together a Group buy for RS2 turbos and they modded my S6.

He was my first call before the list, thanks to everyone for the comments.

Default No I'm in NJ... Randy at TJM had an allroad.

I've been talking with him for some time now and met him at waterfest. A really nice and well informed guy.
