Default Steamboat Ice Track Event - February 3,4,5

Click the image to open in full size.

Hey boys and girls
Still have a few openings for our Ice Track Event at the Bridgestone Winter Driving Course in Steamboat Springs Colorado. We will be on the 'long' track, 1.2 mile multiplane ice course. No studs allowed, Blizzacks or Rsi's recommended.

Some of the best skiing in the country to boot. Latest report is 4feet of powder in the last week. Details and registration on the site. 20 car limit, so a lot of track time (no exercises at this event). Limited single day entries available. We charge per driver, so car sharing is encouraged.

My 15th year of making this trek west, great laughs, and you learn more in 2 days on ice than 10 tarmac events.

One of my favorite Steamboat ice shots is my old black 83 urq 65mph at WOT...

Yup, Brendans 90q Rally Car with the monster AAN. I
tried to help Brendan do the Apikol brochure photos with me driving it found in the link below. Not enough drama, but it looks great!

Default Stock street quattros with winter tires are the rule here, not the exception...

The majority of our entries are street audi quattros with winter ice tires. The best thing about Steamboat is the soft banks mean mess-ups are a big cloud of snow, a push out of the bank and go at it again. The safest way to learn the limits of quattro on a closed track. Think of it as a low cf ACNA track event without the exercises.

Right now, we have a couple 200tq's, some urs4/6, a few late 90's A6's, a couple B6 S4's, a new A6, an allroad, and a couple urq's. Safety is the key, as is driving your street car home in one piece. Riding with Brendan in his 90q rally car is a great experience, but his car won't be at Steamboat this year.

Default 15 years to this venue and back....

For a professionally groomed road course is worth every mile! Lake tracks are ok, but offcamber multiplane road course is more like real life. And puts more focus on driver skillsets than equipment.

This facility is maintained by Bridgestone Winter Driving School, and they have 3 tracks they groom and maintain from December to March. Track 3 is the most challenging, and has several layouts we can run, including changing direction.

We have a couple that drives their urq from Orlando every year, Chicago is half the distance!

Default I would, but work is in the way. Ride out with Scott and I'm guessing Lee would go too.

All great guys to hang out with...bring your family too and stay around for couple days before and after and make a vacation out of it, a real fun one at that!
