road trip from Chicago

Hey, what would be a nice road-trip for one weekend day, not too far, 3-4 hour round ? Somewhere close enough, yet out of the city ..... in Chicagoland that is.

Round trip from Chicago might be a bit more than that, especially if you do the whole thing, but a pretty drive is the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive in WI. From the web link:

"The 115-mile drive traverses six Wisconsin counties. Its northern end is near Elkhart Lake in northern Sheboygan County and its southern end is at Whitewater Lake in southeastern Walworth County."

Drive isn't much, but good scenic hiking. (for Illinois, anyway!)
