Default Hmmm. That sucks. "Mgmt" told me CVO never signed a contract or put down a deposit. True?

Default Can you answer my question? Did you have a deposit down and a signed contract? If so, you got...

screwed. If not, they held a date for you for six + months with no guarantees.

What's the answer?

I know it doesn't bring back the track day, but I would like to know the true story.

Default If you don't pay for or sign a contract, eventually your event will be cancelled.

If you have a copy of the contract or deposit check, post it.

Othewise, it's pretty obvious you didn't have either.

If VCO had signed a contract and paid, they'd have no financial reason, let alone the legal right, to break the contract.

So, considering from your view they screwed you, are you suing? I assume you will not be having any more events at GingerMan if they broke their contract 15 days pre event ( and possibly even took your deposit!).

If you're back at GingerMan next year (or later this year), I'd say Mgmt was right. If you take legal steps or post the contract/deposit, you'd absolutely prove your right.

Yo, YO!

Default It's all cool. No big deal. Being VW owners who really enjoyed your group, and...

knowing "mgmnt" at Gingerman, I am hearing two wildly different stories.

We were all scheduled to shoot your event and when Bob asked us when we were going to be in next, we told him for the CVO event next weekend (we were conversing last Fri and Gingi). He then said that there was no contract and no deposit ever offered.

He told me that in April, when you (and our company) were at Gingi, that someone in leadership from your group told him that they wanted the fall date for sure, but that the summer date was still up in the air. He told me he gave the group until roughly 15 days pre event to come up with the deposit, but CVO never did.

By the way, he also told me that CVO has not put a deposit or signed a contract for the fall event either, so you definitely should check on it.

Also, be careful what you write here as one of the guys from Trackside (owned by gingi) and Gingi's owner, Dan Schnitta, both frequent Audiworld.

Take care and I hope this all gets sorted out. We were really looking forward to working with your group, as you really have a cool group of guys and are nice people.

And we all wanted to see Cameron run the Lambo!

TC,

Mike S

Default GingerMan Cancellation: Event was absolutely cancelled due to no deposit or contract

ever being signed.

You all were misinformed by Brian, with whom I have directly dealt and I am here to set the record straight for all who were scheduled to attend the CVO event at our track on July 23, 2004.

Per GingerMan owner Dan Schitta's request, I am hereby releasing the following statement:

" To all concerned Chicago Volkswagen Organization members and participants, you were not sold out of your July 23, 2004 date by GingerMan track management as Brian posted on this forum and wants you to believe.

As was posted here by others who frequent our track, the CVO directors returned NO signed contract or deposit to GingerMan Raceway (contracts were sent out in September of 2003 for the 2004 season) for the July 23, 2004 event. The event was purely held as long as possible in an effort to help the CVO.

As of April 18, 2004 when the CVO was last here, the directors were even then completely unsure if the July date could ever take place (due to insufficient reservation numbers for the event). I waited for two and a half months for some form of response, deposit and the contract to be signed, and all my requests went unanswered.

On July 8, 16 days pre-event, we were forced to cancel the CVO date and open this date to other parties. The date was filled in 24 hours.

GingerMan Raceway hereby notifies the CVO directors and Brian directly that unless a retraction is posted here on this forum (and on any other forum where GingerMan Raceway was innacurately attributed to the cancellation the 7/24/04 event), the October 17, 2004 CVO drivers event will be cancelled and no future CVO events will be accepted by GingerMan Raceway.

Brian and the CVO directors innacurately and unfairly attributed the cancellation of the event on GingerMan management, damaging our reputation in an attempt to cover their own mistakes. In accuality, it was the CVO directors themselves who made mistakes, failed to make the deposit and sign the approprate contracts, thereby causing the cancelation of their event.

GingerMan takes great pride in the way we conduct business and our reputation will not be damaged by deliberate misinformation . I hope the CVO does the right thing and clarifies the situation honestly.

Regards,

Bib Gilroy, Track Manager - GingerMan Racway

cc. Dan Schnitta - Owner - GingerMan Raceway
