Default PULEEEZEEE! You've got to F**king kidding!

Thay have no idea what they are doing out there in Lombard! One of their salesman is so arrogant and has sooo much hubris that it obscures his common sense. I've met at least angry 5 Audi A4 owners and numerous VW owners who have had their cars altered with chips and assorted recomended mods done by these gentlemen. I also know assorted mechanics in Naperville and Chicago who have had to repair the damage done by these wayward boys. They are not professional wrences and will not lift a wrench if your car is acting up after one of their mods. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!

Default Care to elaborate?

They had some problems with chips malfunctioning but it was due to an issue with APR's EMCS2 boards. the issue has been resolved and it wasn't MP's fault.

As far as "will not lift a wrench if your car is acting up after one of their mods" goes...this is an outright lie. I have spent a LOT of time at MotoPersona and when they were having issues with APR ECU malfunctions and I can remember COUNTLESS times when Rob or Brian would go and personally PICK UP customers who were stranded because their ECU dies. They also covered the towing for their customers, if neccessary.

Also - Rob has worked PAST MIDNIGHT several nights on my car in order to have it ready for track events, and if an issue ever did arise, he was ALWAYS very willing to take steps to rectify the situation, at the store OR AT THE TRACK ON HIS OWN PERSONAL TIME.

Would you care to point out specific instances or should we just be content with knowing you are full of ****? I can count at least 15-20 Chicago area AW forum members alone who stand by this shop and count themsleves as friends of the owners.

Default are you kidding?

so I had an APR chip installed by Motopersona. Turns out that the first batch of EMCS 2 chips were faulty from the company that made the chips for APR, BUT...

they installed the chip. worked fine for 24 hours, but died the following day at lunch. Called MP, they told me to come down, I told them I would be there after work. The car died on the way to their shop, so I pulled the ECU and my buddy drove me to the shop. They resoldered the chip and drove me back to my car. They reinstalled the chip. I drove 20 minutes and the car died 3 more times. I called the shop. Brian and Rob (the owners) BOTH drove out to me in Bolingbrook, we picked up the ECU, went back to the shop. They soldered a NEW chip onto the board and drove me back to my car. (It is about 9:45 pm by now) Then Rob followed me ALL the way to my apartment near wrigleyville. No problems...

but wait, there is more!

later that week, we all drove down to alabama for the APR BBQ.... we had a blast all weekend and on sunday enjoyed drag racing my car. After that we stopped in Clanton Alabama (about 1 hour north of the drags) and my car wouldn't restart. We had a VAG with us, no ECU communication. I call Rob's (motopersona's owner) PERSONAL cell phone. He was 40 miles north of me in Alabama heading home. He TURNED AROUND, DROVE THE 40 MILES BACK TO CLANTON, PICKED ME, MY BUDDY, AND MY ECU UP, AND DROVE US THE 2+ HOURS BACK TO APR, AND ARRANGED FOR THE APR GUYS TO GET ME A NEW CHIP, THEN DROVE THE 2+ HOURS BACK TO MY CAR IN CLANTON, AND INSTALLED THE ECU FOR ME. We caravaned all the way back to IL.

All for a APR chip problem, not a Motopersona problem.

I don't know what YOU are talking about.

I would have to agree with cqboy on this one. I approached them with the mods i wanted done on my car, chip, exhaust and downpipes, and I didnt get the feeling that the salesman even wanted my business. Another time i called, and after asking to speak to a mechanic, realized that he didnt know what he was talking about.

Default don't mean to rip on anyone...

From what i gather Rob (the owner of MP) is a really nice guy, but you do begin to question their work after seeing what happened to shons car. She's had big time problems with the K04 install they did...and for some reason she had people from this board help her out instead of the installer that actually did the job... Just something to think about....
