Default Upon Further Review....

Looks like APR is going to be the chip of choice. Called around and
talked to the tech and sales folks at various chip programmers/dealers and
the folks at APR were great. I've been checking around and have got alot
of feedback including from the folks on the list.

Hope to place the order today and get the chip by Friday. Installation
looks simple enough, in fact it look easier than replacing a CPU in a
Sparc. Wish me luck. Gonna post this on audiworld also.

Default Good luck! Had a bad experience with my chip this weekend....

Warning to all your people who are chipped, I had a bad experience this past weekend
with my car stalling and not starting up. I had to get my car towed using AOA Roadside
Assistance from Evanston to McGrath. First, I though it was a bad fuel pump, maybe a short fuse or something.

Anyways, I swapped the GIAC chipped ECU
with my stock ECU, no problems now, I went in this morning without having McGrath look at the car. My car was parked next door at Jennings Chevy.

Apparently, the chip is loose from the socket, hence, stalling. I'm sending in my ECU to AWE to get repaired. Wish me luck....I miss my chipped power though.

Default That's a somewhat common problem with the GIAC chip - glad you got it sorted out

Default That's the very first time I've heard of that problem. No problems here. Garrett Chip is GREAT.
