Default Speaker upgrade?

Well first off I have been asking around (not on site) and no one knows the answer to my question. What would you upgrade bose speakers to? Ever since I bought my near mint 92 V8 in July the speakers haven't been sounding too good. Then about a week ago one of the 6 by 9's sounded like it blew out but all of them sound a little bad any who. In my other Audi 95 A6 it has bose as well and those speakers produce the best sound I have heard. Is it possible to put a set of speakers from that model in my car? If not what should I upgrade too? Thanks

Default personal preference and budget

are what will decide it for you. go to a shop and listen to what they have that's in your price range and see if they'll fit in your car.

That's the best answer you'll get, honestly. And, FWIW, most audiophiles don't think too highly of the Bose, which again underscores the point above.

FYI - I upgraded to Dynaudio 5.75" comps in the front and one DLS 110 sub in the trunk (and two Zapco amps). I'm very happy with the upgrade.

All the best,
Per

Default Re: personal preference and budget

yeah everything is based on your preference and mostly on your budget. personally, being an audiophille that i am, i hated my bose system i had and i replaced all my speakers with Polk/Momo speakers powered by a pioneer DEH-P7800MP head unit and 2 kicker subs powered by an audiobahn amp and i feel it sounds 100 times better then the factory bose system and the system that i put in cost me as follows:

Pioneer DEH-P7800MP: $420
Polk audio speakers: $99x2
Kicker Comp 12": $99x2
Audiobahn 4002t amp: $320
2 gauge power kit: $99
Install: DIY

having sound better then BOSE......PRICELESS!!!!!!
lol
