If you are saying you want to run a wire from the ashtray to the back of the HU??
There are multiple bulkheads that you need to get through before you can exit/enter the ashtray...I have a bunch of pics and a write-up if that is what you are asking.. If you mean how you can get down to under the armrest, etc. On the B5 there are two bolts uner the rear ashtray, one on each side of the console just in front of the shift surround and then the e-brake handle must be removed.. Then you can lift the center console out... Clarify what you are hoping to do and I might be able to give your more detail...
