DIY pinout information for Phatbox VW to Audi cable conversion...
I got tired looking for Phatbox cables and successfully modified the existing VW cable that came with the Phatbox. Here is the pinout information.
Needless to say all legal disclaimers are in full effect. This procedure worked for me, try it at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any damages you may cause to your car / Phatbox, etc.
Phat pin 1 (red wire) to Audi pin 3
Phat pin 2 (white wire) to Audi pin 1
Phat pin 3 (Black with white stripe) to Audi pin 2 and 4
Phat pin 4, 16, case,(thick black, brown wires) to Audi pin 5
Phat pin 10, 13 (purple wire) to Audi pin 10
Phat pin 12 (orange wire) to Audi pin 9
Phat pin 14 (yellow wire) to Audi pin 7
Phat pin 24 (black wire) to Audi pin 13
Phat pin 25 (green wire) to Audi pin 11
The wire color information is just for reference purposes. Please check with an ohm meter to make sure they map to the same Phatbox pin as described above before connecting to Audi 13 pin DIN.
Make sure you know the correct pin location on the Audi connector. Most pin descriptions are for the male receptacle. For the female receptacle pin numbering starts from upper right hand corner (pin 1) and continues from right to left.
See the link below for additional info.
Good luck.<ul><li><a href="http://uh.clem.home.comcast.net/images/femalesocket.jpg">Female Audi 13 pin DIN connector</a></li></ul>

Re: awesome...you beat me to it! Any input for us ....after you've installed this? Usability..etc.
I do not know if you are looking for any specific information but I just plugged the cable in and it worked. Used the instructions in the manual to select appropriate head unit and I have full control of the Phatbox. I have not had time to play with all the features or add PhatVoice but so far I am very happy with it.
The only small issue was that the female receptacle that I have mounted does not lock in the male connector securely. I do not know how the original plug looks like but I suspect there is a small hole on the bottom outer shell where the flexible metal pin (from the male connector) fits to lock the two in place. My solution was to cut a small hole to accommodate that locking pin.
Let me know if you need any other info.

Re: DIY pinout information for Phatbox VW to Audi cable conversion...
I would love to help you but I really do not have the time to do it. I would have ordered the cable if I had could find one. Hopefully with all the information available there will be someone that can modify a few cables.

As far as I am concerned it is more complicated to go that route...
The DIN connector is pretty short and I would have had to remove the inside trunk panel and CD charger bracket to have adequate room to do the splicing. On top of that by using a connector I can leave the stock Audi setup.
