You will need to remove the seat cushion for the rear reat- pull up hard until the front pops, then pull it forward and up, and it will slide out. Then remmove the driver side rear seat back- 2 bolts if I remember where the seat cushion came out, one of them also holds down the seatbelt connector. Then you need to use a deep socket to remove the nut holding the rear seat back pin- where the seat connects to the wall and clicks in. You need to loosen the nut and then unscrew the pin. Once the rear seat back and cushion are out then start pulling the panel away from the wall. It is held in by clips of sorts. You just need to pull hard. Slowly move your hand all the way around and keep pulling until the whole side comes free. It will be held still in place by the seatbelt-which runs behind it and then though the top as you will see. Once that side is out, twist it out of the way. You will now have full access to the CD changer and its mounting brackets. I would suggest you unmount it, tap your cables and away you go.
If you want to get real fancy you can then start to take the lower channel apart, and finally the lower dash and dead pedal. That way you can run your lines all the way up to the front and hit them OEM style ;-). That is more difficult, and the channel cover can easily crack- I cracked mine while running my power lines for my cars stereo. Hope that helps... I can take some pics for you since my rear seats are out now... it is a mess so it might not be any huge help. |
