Default a question for you audio/electronics wizards.

Has anyone done this/is it even possible. I would like to use a pioneer eq/dsp/processor/blablabla with my stock head unit. Here is the problem. I want to use the detachable face in the armrest with the meat of the unit located somewhere else. Is it possible to build a connector cable to link the two parts so they can be used in this way.

Thanks in advance

Jeff

Default do you have the EQ already? My Pioneer one is made this way

the face is only 1.25" deep, and most of the electronics are in the hide-away unit.

Default In this picture, you see the frame for the stereo and the EQ.........

Click the image to open in full size.

It's upside down in the pic, as the units would slide in from the table side. The DIN slot closest to the camera is the EQ slot. See how it's only ~1.25" deep

Default this kinda assumes you take the Symphony's low level outputs...

put them into the EQ, and then take the EQ's outputs and put them into either the BOSE amp (if you ahve BOSE), or into the rear speakers (cuz they have amps on them), or into a different aftermarket amp.

All/most DSP is done outside the headunit itself, so I never took your question to mean "Can I get DSP into the Symphony?" I hope I read your question correctly.

Default Yes you did. Thanks. I was looking into a Pioneer unit to work with the stock head. (more)

I was thinking about using the phone space in the armrest to hide the eq. Your input was very helpful.
