wifes cabriolet needs a new stereo. What choices have I with red backlighting

and one that "compliments " the cars interior styling, and doesnt look all "ricey" ? would prefer an in dash CD in it too.

Becker make a headunit that perfectly matches the Audi dash. It is available in cassette, CD or Mini-Disc versions.

Check out http://www.becker.de

Becker is used as 'premium' equipment on Porsche and Mercedes.

1. Kenwood eXcelons have the closest match I've seen. It's a dead on match for the interior red. The display is blue, but it really blends well with the interior.

2. Sony Explod.... but just a slight hint of orange that's not quite the dead on match as the Kenwood

3. Blau Nevada. Looks about as good as the Kenwood.

I chose the Kenwood myself cuz I liked the features, 4.5 volt output, and the fact that it rotates to hide itself when not in use.
