Default Flat underbody for the new A/S3 ? anyone know more about it?

"European models get up to 15-percent-better fuel economy, in part due to aerodynamic improvements such as a flat underbody. Under the hood is a new two-stage oil pump, and friction losses are reduced, particularly when the engine is cold. Whether the improvements show in the U.S.-market EPA cycle remains to be seen."

fwiw, this is how the current 3dr 2.0tq underbody looks like

Default I'd expect the production change would cost more than keeping the flat underbody for US...

Plus, wouldn't getting better MPG and more peace of mind driving over semi-flooded roads be added sell points for the US market?
