Default Cheaper than dirt front lic. plate filler change

K, so I tried to buy the blank front filler when I bought my car this exact day 1 year ago. Sorry to say that the salesman was a jackass, and along with a few other things that should have been done, the filler plate was left off the table.

So I ordered the front bumper filler from the same dealership on 12/18. I got it today! I do have to give props to the parts and service side of Livermore Audi. Their sales staff might suck rotten eggs, but the other 2/3rds of the dealership have done right by me so far.

So I get filler installed in two seconds. I'm not sure I'm hip to the two chrome strips tho. So I break out the electrical tape and cover the strips over. In my well lighted garage, it's a perfect match to the gray/black plastic. I'll see how it looks in the sunlight tomorrow when I wash the car.

Totally temporary cover of the chrome that's completely reversable. I like the totally blacked out look, and it was cheaper than dirt.

And props to Livermore Audi parts department.

Default I did the same thing- except i filled and painted.

Turned out Ok- though the paint is a bit soft for the front of a car. so i sanded it down again and looking to get a tougher paint

Default So you've not been happy with durability of the paint you applied?

What's your next idea? 0

Default Probably take it to an autobody shop and have them spray it/

Im going to go to an autobody paint supply shop and see if they have anything that will not chip.

Just not a fan of the chrome. - however i do not like the body colored pannels either.

oh well

Default Buy the plate?

That's bogus, you shouldn't have had to buy one. I just told the salesman to switch out the front place with a filler plate and he did it no problem, no extra cost.
