Default From the Numbers I've seen so far...you don't have a chance, unless...

The other person is a horrible manual driver...then perhaps, if you're on DSG, you can make up time on those shifts. Motortrend did 14.6 in the 1/4 and Road&Track did 14.9 with a test weight of 3500lbs. :-O, while others did low 15s.

i guess i'll have to reframe from racing until i chip it. btw, talked to APR guy, they're working on a second program; should be available soon. I can't wait! then, i should be able to hold my own against those cars. not that i advocate racing, it's just nice to know you can keep up.

Default Wrx will likely take you if you hit any twisties being

that it's awd :-(

Seems too many here talk about straight line runs and off-the-line launches. I prefer nice curves :-) Unfortunately we'll get our asses handed to us unless as you alluded to..the other driver sucks or is a wuss when it comes to pushing the car hard.

Default No chance even chipped..

unless you go against the older imprezas w/ 230hp and you'd have to be chipped. Even the G35 has the advantage, with 3500 you'd have to trim off some fat. The A3 is pretty much on par with an RSX TypeS.

Default Plain WRX is still 227hp... only the sti 300 or whatever it is

at 227 with major AWD losses it would probably be close.. Chipped you'd destroy a stock WRX.. but there is nothing fair about a stock vs modified comparison anyway..

Default A3 feels just as powerful as WRX stock.

Owning a WRX and an A3 that are both currently stock, I deffinitly think the A3 (with DSG) would take the WRX off the line or it would atleast be very close. The conditions that would come in to play with the WRX is the huge HP loss with AWD plus the WRX has horrible turbo lag. Add the fact that the DSG is way faster (than me at least) than the 5MT.

Default I think the A3 has a great chance against a WRX...

A lot will come down to drivers. And, the WRX is a lag monster compared to an A3. The A3's power comes a flyin' in where the WRX has to revved at least to 3300rpms before anything happens.

Default Yeah I think your right I had the weight differences off.

The A3 2.0t is pretty much on par with the regular 2.0t Subaru. But the STI would still have the extra 30hp. Is anyone offering a turbo upgrade for the A3 uet?
