Default If wifey isn't that tall, it's one of the few cars that fits shrimps well:)

I can say that, because I'm one ;-)

Ergonomics are spot-on!

Default Rear door width and nearly 90 degree opening

I managed to persuade mine that it was a great family car and actually, all jokes apart it is.
One of the things I liked was the rear (family doors) are quite narrow and can be opened to nearly 90 degrees which prevents the kids from bursting the door open and damaging either the door or the car next to it in the car park and it allows you to secure them easily in their seats (if they are very young) without worrying about paintwork! I know it's probably standard in the states but how about the auto door locking at 15mph ?
I know these are not life changing reasons but I hope it helps.

Default Actually rear airbags might not be safer for the kids.

Being in the seat, if they sleep with their heads against them.......

You can say that it is a very practical car!

Default Try them with the Recaro Start. It grows with your kid so you don't need to buy more seats.

Comes with head and shoulder supports. This way the seat and the side airbags (which are like thick pancakes that open alongside the door) work together for the best side protection.

Default Re: thanks all ;)

the cost is a big issue, as much as id love a new a4 with all the features i want the sticker would be very high.

most important though is being able to haul stuff, there have been so many times i havnt been able to move something because it wont fit in my trunk or backseat.

also that car seat you posted is great!

Default paragon...I am not sure what you are doing...Finance, Lease or PP...

But unless your talking a straight finance...I ran the numbers and you can get a 37K A4 for less on lease or PP then a 33K A3. Something to think about....then when you add on top of the fact that dealers will discount an A4 1400-1600 and you get 1000 bucks for your '98 A4 in loyality...it soon makes it very very doable.....That A4 isnt far off at all...run the numbers...it could very well cost you less then the A3.
