Default Follow up to water leak issue, another known issue!! + Carpet Q?

Guys,

As suspected this water issue is known to Audi dealers, Dovercourt inn Bristol were bang on the money when they suspected a loose fitting of pollen filter and air intake for ventilation. This was loose/ill fitting and has been fixed under warranty but is a common prob with A3's ?
I'm picking up car today so I'll check with the service guys, the carpets are till damp and my detachable carpets are drying (still)

Q: Anyone know if the interior detachable footwell/seat carpets are machine washable??

Incidentally the A6 1.8TQ aint too bad if you like larger cars ;-> the quattro has been v useful in heavy water - boat like but effective.

T Sport.

I cant remeber where but I read about other VAG group cars leaking water due to a loose pollen filter. Both Golfs and SEATs, a problem across the whole company maybe?

Default Contacted my dealer today about this issue

My polen filter got changed a week ago and I was afraid such a thing could happen to me. The dealer said that this is bound to happen if the filter gets fitted poorly and they have been aware of this since 4 years. Not a single case has been reported from the cars serviced by them. I hope so, but seeing is believing

Ask your dealer to get them changed under warranty.
I had my carpets repeatedly soaked and it's impossible to get them dry as there is a thick ammount of faom padding attached to the carpet which does not dry out.
