Alan, in a previous post you mentioned that there are thousands of A3 owners in Europe who don't know about this forum. I think these two belong to that group. These messages also show that the fade problem affects more people than the dealers claim. We need to reach these people in order to make this fade issue a case.

Default Ravenx, I agree..

Perhaps we should post a message on alt.autos.audi pointing to this site. But the only problem with that is they get archived over time.

Maybe Chris or John, as customers of AmD, could mention this site as well. Maybe even get them to put a link to here on the AmD web site??

Also the creators of this web-site need to make it "search engine friendly" with a lot more search engines. So that this site appears in the first few hits returned.

I've thought of personally placing an advert in a uk car magazine, pointing to this site. A car mag like, Autocar, Car or Top Gear. Not sure how much it would cost though.

Just some ideas.

Cheers,

Alan

Default Search engine experiment...

All,

I've just performed a quick search engine test. I did a simple search for "audi" on a number of major search engines, looking to see were Audiworld comes in the search results. The results shown below are not in a particular order.

1) altavista.com or .co.uk
Audiworld link found on result page 9, hit 88!

2) excite.com
First page, web results. But link still listed as "Welcome to A4.org"

3) Infoseek.go.com
First 10 hits - no
next 10 hits - no
next 10 hits - Yes. Hit no 34. Again still lists site as A4.org

4) Goto.com
First 40 hits - no
Next 40 hits - Yes. Hit no 50, Audiworld

5) Webcrawler.com
First Page web results - Hit no 7.

6) excite.co.uk - full web search
First Page, top 10. Hit no 2, still listed as A4.org

So as you can see, anyone new to Audi or new to a particular model, is not going to come across this site that easily. It basically depends on which search engine they use.

Anyone got any more ideas on how we can increase awareness of this site and forum?

Cheers,

Alan.

Is there a cheaper solution to the problem than changing calipers, has anyone tried different pads, discs or even fluid that has made any difference?

Default We could pay a small fee to RealNames for more search engine friendliness
