S3 vs. A4 1.8T Quattro

What is the better choice out of the A4 1.8Tq and the s3?? Sure the S3 has better performance, but apart from that what is better?

The 6th gear
The Looks (it is a devil in disguise)
The 3-door hatch design (I hate saloons)
The Performance
The Recaro Seats
The 17" Avus Wheels
The Twin Chrome Exhaust Outlets
etc.
etc.

I would have considered to buy an A4 1.8TQ Sports Edition (180bhp) Coupé. Sadly, it does not exist.

as soon you sit in a S3, you can feel the power, you feel so great, so confortable. its a rocket on 4 wheels. S is for Sport, Speed and all the nice S stuff, like sex.

You are biased Ravenx!!
I needed a car with a reasonable amount of boot space so it was the A4T quattro Sport.
I really enjoyed driving the S3 but just not enough space.
The interior of the A4 is slightly better quality with a few nice touches ,backlight controls including the dash vents .
The car is qiieter than the S3 but definately not so fast but with a 220 240 bhp coversion it would be a real sleeper just like the S3
In the end it is just personal preference saloon or smaller hatch.
Now a 2 door A4 would look really elegant.

Yes ,together with a cabrio but I expect it is likely to be 2002/3 before they are all released.I have no particular need for 4 doors and I expect that a coupe will have that elegant look--------- I think that the BMW 3series coupes look so much neater than the 4 door saloons.
