Default Maybe we can start a petition for import of the A3/S3 to the US...

Maybe we can start a petition to get the car imported. If I recall correctly
BMWNA had to be lobbied to import the 4 door M3, but they did eventually
come around and do it. Perhaps someone could start a dedicated web site
and/or letter attracting attention to the A3, and people could sign on so that
AoA could visibly see their collective interest? Takers?

Default A petition + deposits, then they would still wonder...

Take Porsche for example. They have a couple of hundred $10,000 deposits at dealers across the country and they still aren't sure whether to bring the GT3 over here. Our local dealership has 4 of those deposits that I know of.

I think it all comes down to economics. A3s would need crash and emissions certifications, etc. It's a lot more than just diverting cars off the line to the US.

The US is such a small market right now for Audi, and the US has so many regulations. I doubt they will bring them over anytime in the near future. I really wish they would, though!

I am all for it. Who is the website guru? I suggested this a while ago about the petition. The deposit idea is excellent. I am ready to lay down the cash NOW. Anybody else? The car would probably be pretty pricy, but I would, right now, cough up $35,000.00 for the car. To those of you seriously interested, and actually able to buy an S3, let's persue this. I bet that there are at least as many buyers for this car as the TT. Let's do it!!!!!!!

I'm with everyone on this!!! I'm also ready to throw down some cold hard cash for this car. Ever since I knew there was an A3 and then the S3....I've been wanting AoA to bring this little bad *** coupe to the United States.

Default I thought I saw a red GT3 in westport ct today, really!

It had the funny looking twisted rear spoiler.

I am 100% for this. I wan't an S3, but I am forced to settle for either a more expensive S4 or less of a performer A4. I have acually seen an article in European Car that had a sidebar on a MTM S3. At the bottom it says:

U.S. Importer:
Joel Hoppen Motorsport
6245 Clark Centre Ave., Unit M
Sarasota, FL 34238
(941)924-6380

I haven't gotten around to calling them but if someone does and gets some ballbark figures I'd be very interested to see them posted here.

Thx,
Dave
