Default My feedback on ohbw.

I'm the first to admit I don't know the whole story on ohbw's ban. I do know he stepped over the line once and received a temp suspension for that, and justly in my mind. After that though, things started going sideways. a chosen few in AWP seemed to follow him from post to post, goading him, trying to get him to make another threat.

I've seen similar goading, threatening exchanges in AWP, I've been in them. When it happened with me, Kris stepped in, seemingly impartially, and the abuse stopped. I'm in your debt there.

Mods never like to explain why they banned someone. I've been a mod elsewhere, I get that. Impartially moderating a forum like AWP can't be easy. But the next time someone steps over the line, that might be a good time for the mod team to remind us all where that line lies.

Default I personally know ohbw and he is the nicest guy ever.

He must have had a bad day when he started that post. He definitely did not deserve the ban and the rest of the D2 forum miss him greatly.
FREE OHBW!!! I am sure he will promise not to post on AWP anymore

Default A liberal and a conservative got into a heated conversation on AWP. Can you believe it?

The liberal got banned permanently.

Default I'm not going to get into it in detail, since it wasn't my decision to ban him...

but I will say that Kris and Jason basically had no choice after his posts and emails. The guy, no matter how nice he was on D2A8, was out of control.

Default It wasn't just one post and one day.

And there were other circumstances involved than most saw.

Default I am still wondering why AW has a forum for politics........

In that case there should be one for Conservatives and one for liberals.... its like having D2 A8 and B6 S4 forums.
I trully think that OHBW is a nice guy and that the Ban should be lifted. As Tozo said we are sure he will not post again in the politics forum.

Default Agreed.

Some of the guys there make me wonder about their sanity, but they still keep it under the TOU, so there's no issues.

Default Sorry but I believe that if someone is banned the moderator should

be obliged to explain what the reason was for such serious action and should also allow the member the dignity of reply before the ban takes affect.
As an observer and regular contributer to the D2 forum it appears that the moderator has overreacted and behaved in a knee jerk manner that makes him look both unfair and possibly bias.
Suggest that an open letter from the moderator may help to explain his actions and this should be balanced by OBHW being allowed to post a retort.
Then all will at least be democratic and other members "who are the forum" can make an educated decision and decide for themselves who is out of line.
Brian is a great contributer with clearly a very interesting and intelligent view of the world and will be sorely missed on the D2 forum.
We dont have to agree with what he says but we should allow him to express it or we should go live in China
Come on moderator dont screw this up further or members will vote with their feet.
