Another "track thread" question. I've searched far and wide on this...

I know this subject is beat to death and I feel dumb asking....and maybe the answer is here somewhere and I'm not seeing it.

but

It seems the "track thread" (tt) is the default. So no matter what, all threads are tracked.

Is there a way to turn them all to "untrack thread" as a default and then start to choose what ones you want tracked?

Go in to your personal options and uncheck the box that says "default to track all threads you reply to" or whatever the language is.

Click tt to track that particular thread (when a thread is actually tracked, it will say "ut" for untrack on the right). Click "ut" to un-track the thread.

You understand the functionality, but you're interpreting it backwards.

in which case, he's interpreting it right. The default option is to track threads that you reply to and you have to manually disable that.
