Default Remember the days of coming onto A4.Org and being the "first one" to post after a forum crash?

I was first once. Ahh, memories.

Default I remember the days when the site was so small, there...

...were no crashes! There were just a few regulars who kept the site going, and then...BAM! It's unbelievable how quickly this site advanced and grew, even during times when it was overwhelming for poor Jason! Infact, I believe when I started hanging out here, SteveS didn't even have his A4 yet, and now he's selling it for the S4! My how times change! :-)

Default Let's have some background memory before Millenium.....

Remember in Spring 97 when both Steve S and I didn't even have an A4 yet, the "Jason's A4 Page" was so tiny and the forum was so small that just a few posters over there posting about their 96. I got all the information on sport vs non-sport, convenience packge, deal from dealer or even color choices before I finally signed the dotted line at my local dealer at late March. It was a very pleasant experience when I was back in Hong Kong to watch the hand-over in Summer, 97. I was still checking of the forum even though there was not as many postings as currently.
In December of 97, I referred one Vancouver local potential 98 A4 owner (James Wu) to my local dealer and my salesperson. During Spring of 98, many Vancouver A4 owners we haven't seen but we have talked to each other on the forum started the Vancouver A4 Club and have a great turnout even in its inangural meeting. My girlfriend was also took delivery her 95 Saab 900 convertible for a 98.5 Laser Red 1.8T and James took delivery of Brilliant Black 1.8T at around the same time in June.
I know my girlfriend never posted her real name or user email when she was gathing informations on chipping or modifications, I have nothing to say cause she knew who I am in A4 forum.
The worse era had to be the BMW E46 3-Series vs A4 and Acura 3.2TL vs A4 during Summer of late Spring 98. Went into the A4 forum was like went to the "Saving Private Ryan" scene. Thanks Jason deleted many flammable posts in order to keep peace! It was also war-like when A4.org editors left for Germany, BMW owners came back again! I apologize if my girlfriend was involved in one of those redundance war, I knew she challenged lots of Bimmer owners using faux names (including UnaBimmer in early this year). "I beated those annoying BMW owners at A4 forum last evening" was what she always told me first when we went out. More over, UnaBimmer was a highly challenge character for most A4 owners here in A4.org during Spring.
Lots of BMW vs Audi during the E46 launched when Car and Driver November issue rated 328 one point better than the A4 2.8, also BMW owners challenged A4 owners when A4 1.8T won over 323 in April issue.
I was responsible for the "A4 vs competitions" article with another A4 owner from Boston. It was a great time driving all other competitors at the local "main branches" instead of dealers.
During summer time, I met a new 99.5 A4 owner from Washington State. We wrote emails to each others since that day, we finally met each others at the Seattle Auto Show last month.
I didn't want to leave for Vegas on the exact day when A4.org changed format in the afternoon while I was packing. The first thing after I took off 4 wisdom teeth, check the A4.org forums. My mom and sister always say when they were in my computer room "its A4.org again!"
The first thing I went to Computer Science's first class during September, go to A4.org check messages.
I brought plate frames, T-shirt and golf shirt before. Sadly, my house doesn't have enough space to place the great-looking Audi World poster. Maybe next time! :<
I met a lot of friends from A4.org, got lots of usable informations from the enthuisasts and things should be the same as soon as it changed to Audi World.
