My Rear TT/R32 Peloquin LSD Install
So I finally got around to installing the new diff on Saturday, it is currently to early to provide thoughts and comments on the feel. I used the write up on the Tex linked below I also took some pics to supplement the TEX write up..
Only issues I had with the write up is there are snap rings inside not circlips (you'll need some heavy duty snap ring pliers).
I also thought more details on the re-install would be beneficial as he mentioned ruining an axel. The key peices that were missing is that before removing grind your brace a little to allow you to remove the housing easier(I felt a must).
Before reinstalling, remove the driver side flange so that you can slide the drivers side in and out I did not remove the housing so I did not replace the seal.
Install the LSD on the passenger side, bolt it up, then install the drivers side with the help of a piece of wood and a mallet(after lining up the splines. Pretty easy the wood / mallet are due to a circlip.
Of note, I did not take mine to a shop, I got together with a local enthusiast (Thanks William (GorTT)) who has a bearing press. If you attempt to do this machine shop work yourself, understand that it will take some time unless you have some special press tools. We spent alot of time making wooden tools to accomplish the job.
