Default D2 Quattro GmbH (Individualized) and Security Brochures Anybody?

Another forum member has hard copies of two interesting European D2 (Face Lift) brochures that he was kind enough to loan me.

Brochure #1 is from Quattro GmbH and is for the A8 "Individualized" program. They offered a lot of paint colors (including a paint to sample if one were so inclined), interior colors, wood trim, leather dashes and other various options that were not shown in the standard sales brochure. It is in German and 20 pages long.

Brochure #2 is the "Security" brochure. This is things like outside PA systems, fire supression systems, armor proofing the trunk, run flat tire system....think dignitary and high powered execs. It is in three languages (including English) and is 10 pages long.

I have scanned these 2 brochures in both JPEG and PDF format and in both high resolution and "forum postable" resolution. Here are the questions: A) Does anyone have any interest in seeing these brochures? B) if yes, would you want me to post them here on the forum? ...or would you rather I just e-mail them to you?

The high res versions are BIG files ~45mb and ~22mb, so I would prefer to "batch" send them out if you want them that way. I can collect e-mail addresses until I have several and send it out at once.

Maybe no one cares or wants to see them, but *I* found them interesting.

Default Re: D2 Quattro GmbH (Individualized)... Brochures Anybody?

I would love to see them, but I don't think I can even get 45 Mb files in my inbox. I've always suspected that cars like the S8 with streetwalker red seats and and the blue over caramel/blue leather were from a program like this. And I'm certain some of them made it here to the U.S., which explains the occasional Espresso Brown S8s that pop up for sale (haven't seen one of those for sale in a while, though).

Default I have it as 4 PDF's or 20 JPEGs, so....

...it can be sent as one large e-mail or 20 smaller e-mails (or anything in-between).

Yes, the Street Walker Red and Blue/Caramel interior'd cars are probably quattro GmbH cars on some level. Although, another quattro GmbH brochure I have from 1996 specifies that as long as the exterior paint and leather dye can be had in a non-toxic forumla, you can have ANYTHING you want, NOT just colors from the VAG pallet. Want your S8 to match your 1958 Porsche 356? No Problem! Want your seats to match your wife's shoes? No problem.

I really can't imagine that many if ANY of them made it to the states though. Maybe if it was an Audi Exec. car or something like that, but otherwise, I would be shocked if Audi let that happen. As for Espresso Brown, it is shown as a color option in my 2002 USA A8/A8L/S8 brochure.

I have started to see it trickle in to the US on D3's though. Recently, there was an '07 S8 on eBay that was daytona grey with a Streetwalker Red interior, piano black trim pieces, Red trimmed floor mats and red stiching on the steering wheel. Window sticker shows "Special Build Package" and it was a $21k option!

Default That'd be waay cool Ron - I too hate to clog me pipes here (and they're pretty good). Espresso...

...Brown I've seen like ONE time ONCE on a local //S8 1000000 years ago, musta been when just came out. Neat stuff - yes not Special Build just uber rare.

As odd / crazed as Skywalker Red or the like is - I *really* f'n dig the fact that a mfg. let's a client have this control - just too damn cool. Like tailor fitting a suit. Porsche had/has their Special Wishes program where you can basically do whatever you want with much of the car - also too damn cool.

AND I find it appalling / insulting we US suckers get shut out of that. Lame. Tho, sometimes this is a good thing cause apparently not everyone has good taste and then there's abysmal examples floating about.

HA - Like I should give a flying rat's tush about the subject!!! I've yet to and likely will never buy a new car 8-).

Now... let it be said that D3 //S8 Special Build Olu references does naaaaaaaughty things to me inside it does <<<insert creepy sociopathic giggle>>>. My bud was just eyeing a Daytona one @ local stealer with like 8k on it for waaaay less than sticker - let them drop like flies!!! Didn't have contrasting stitching / piping or piano tho 8-(. I'm trying to get another too-heel'd bud over to convince him he's to have it heh heh - whattapal I am...

Default Alright, let's do it like this....

I am going to post the SMALL versions right now in this post. That way you can get a feel for what they look like. I will mail the large versions to TwinCitiesS8 since he has offered to make them available for download, so thanks to him for that!

IMHO, the higlight that seems "obtainable" is the half wood and half leather 3 spoke steering wheel

The highlight that seems to have a "cool factor" is the all leather dash (you can see the stitching up the center console and into the dash and then along the top of the dash). I looked it up in ETKA and ran the number through Impex.....$11,000+ and then you have to ship it from Germany! OUCH!

Without further ado, The "GmbH" brochure:
