my dad had spent a good amount of time researching just that a couple years back and from what he found, its damn near impossible. At the very least it would be a Gray Market car but i think he found it was much more trouble than its worth. just my 2 cents.

Default It might cost as much as the value of 01-02 D2 S8 at this point...

Let alone the time needed to do it. There's no real 'market' for this, unlike what grey importers used to do, and still are doing, in UK, for instance, for "popular" vehicles like the Mitsu Evo or the last gen Nissan GT-R.

Default Tozo has the best solution to this issue, but its a very involved process.

Default He did it the hard way. All of the conversion parts are available new from vagparts

you just have to know which parts, lol...
