What alignment shop? Is it the dealer? or and indpendent? Did you give them the alignment specs or not?

also called a "wheel bearing housing" by Bentley's -- the central bit of metal in the suspension that all the other bits are fastened to.

I recently changed the wheels with the 18" one's I bought on Ebay so I wanted to get it aligned, I took it to an independent in Torrance, CA. While at it I took a set of outer tie-rods aswell. I did not give him the specs..He changed the tie-rods and he convinced me that the spindle was bent so he could not center the steering wheel. The car never had an accident in my hands but it could have had a curb hit or something before I got about an year ago and the seller never disclosed! I adjusted the steering the crude way by taking it out and centering it. I should have changed the tie-rods myself and taken it for an alignment but having moved to CA recently I don't have a place to do it and my tools with me. Its a temp fix but its okay now.
BTW, these are the new ones I got from Ebay for $770 shipped they were literally brand new and came with tires, I always wanted the ET35 17" wheels like yours but I couldn't find any.

Couldn't get the steering wheel straight? That's the first step of the procedure....I have posted specs of the alignment many times before.....did they give you an as-found and as-left print out?
You either need to go to the dealer who knows what they are doing or go to an independent that you can work with who knows the A8 alignment procedure.....it's in the Bently. You need before/after print outs. Your car looks awesome with those wheels! |
