sunroof problem after dead battery
#2
This happened to me...
...when I swapped batteries last year.
The sunroof would not open or close all the way but it did move from half way open to fully open with the switch.
I mannually cranked the sunroof closed and then restarted the car. It worked from then on. The manual crank closure is in the panel for the sunroof, I think it uses an allen wrench for manula closure.
Hope this helps!

I had a similar problem...
At the end of the OEM battery's life, I would put the charger on and sometimes the roof would just open itself all the way (one time the car was full of snow when I came out in the am!) and the first couple of times I thought the damn car was possessed. But the sunroof switch would then work essentially in reverse. Since the car was parked with the dial in the "closed" position and the roof was now open wide, turning it toward "lift" would cause it to close about a third of the way. Moving toward "open" would just strain the motor trying to open it further. Here's what worked for me:
1) drop the switch panel (easy--only 2 screws) cover, and disconnect the connector-- 3 prong keyed
2) rotate the switch to the full open position (where the roof actually was positioned)
3) reconnect the connector
It would then function normally. I haven't had to do it since the new battery, but it worked at least 5 times for me. Sorry this is so windy...good luck
