Default First MMI hiccups at ungodly cold temperatures

At 5500 km. the 2004 A8L remains mechanically and electrically sound. In fact, it is downright capable under these very harsh conditions.

Click the image to open in full size.

But tonight, the first hiccups apeared. First, the MMI screen will not open up: it did after the car was left alone for 15 minutes. Reboot?

Then the CDs played as determined by the tagged minutes and seconds, but no sound came through the system.

Finally the remote fob will not work, but again did so, after the key was used to open the doors.

It is so COLD here [with wind chill factor - 58 degrees C.] that I am not sure than anything electronic [or even human] can function that well. So, I suspect it's nature = 1. MMI = 0.

It is supposed to warm up tomorrow, and it will be interesting to see if all systems are go in the morning...

Default 1.30 A. M.: NATURE = 1 MMI = 0

All systems are now go, with the car sitting in a warm garage for 2 hours.

Default Really, I didn't realize folks actually live in northern Ontario during winter months.

Default That is why 1/4 of the population of the city flock south in the winter!

Good news for real estate and other businesses in Florida, Nevada and California.

Believe me, after this, I am tempted to start looking for a condo in Florida myself. It is still - 40 degrres C today! Br-r---rr. The A8L works well though. - 50 degrees C seems to be the threshold.
