Default program seat and key for auto steering wheel retract

I wondering whether any fellow hobbiest can show me how to program my car key so that when I turn off the engine and withdraw the key the telescope steering wheel retract and as well as return back to position when I put the key in the ignition. I have a 1998 Audi A8. Thanks in advance.

Default must depress button

On my '97, the steering wheel will automatically retract and move upwards when the key is removed and IF the small black button next to steering wheel position adjuster is depressed. This should work regardless if you have a regular key or a integrated fob and key.

When you put the key in and turn to the on position, the steering wheel will return to the previous position.

Default I mentioned this in a post above, but I would disable the auto retract feature unless you really...

need it. There have been several reports of the steering wheel adjusters on these cars going bad, and exercising the motor/gears every time you get in and out is putting a lot of wear and tear on the parts. The feature is really cool, and I like it, but I would rather lose the "cool" factor and have the steering wheel adjuster work when I need to make an adjustment or have it move for another driver. IMHO.....
