Looking at getting an A6 after some peer pressure from OCDboy. Curious as to whether all C5 A6s have the wiring for the steering wheel controls in case i stumble upon a good deal for an A6 without steering wheel controls. (i'm spoiled by my VW).
I tried searching and did not find a clear answer. Just need to know if all of the cars have the harness tucked in behind the steering wheel. heck, even where to get said steering wheel... Thanks for the help. |

Of course this is assuming that you are talking about the radio controls, not the tip controls.
If you want to install the tip steering wheel, there is a tech article on how to do that. The multifunction wheel will not be that easy.

yes, i was referring to the multi-function wheel, and i'm guessing from your reaction it may not be super expensive, but it would more trouble than its worth to rip open the dash and splice together multiple wires?
