B7 RS4 brakes - Heavy but should stop well
I picked up my calipers and discs for about 1/3 less than Brembo or Move-it brakes would have cost me here in Europe.
Sizes and weights are as follows
Caliper weight 5.3 Kg 11.68 lb
Disc weight 12.0 Kg 26.46 lb
Disc diameter 367 mm, thickness 34 mm
The discs are the same for left and right. There are no vanes between the inner and outer disc plates, just supporting pillars. The holes are drilled into the disc plates they are not cast in. These discs are big heavy and cheaply made, almost agricultural !! It would not surprise me if the rotors were not made by Brembo
Packed in the caliper boxes were Brembo installation instructions for model 98.5030.40
Brake pads are from Pagid with a non metallic looking compound.
These brakes will replace red painted stock calipers, Zimmerman drilled rotors and EBC Red stuff pads which overheat horribly on high speed stops over 100 mph
Assuming the install goes well, I will get some S8 rear brakes

8 pistons !

Did you buy them from a dealer or a parts house? By the way, EBC reds suck, so that was half
your problem.
Interested in now it turns out.
Do they bolt right onto a B7 S4/A4?
Lastly, where are you located in Europe?

Before I had the EBC red stuff I had stock pads that also over heated and left deposits on the rotors.
I got mine through a "parts house" in Germany, email me if you want his address. I was very happy with his carefullness. He opened every box and checked every part before I paid him.
I beleive that they will bolt straight on a B7, they are supoosed to bolt straight on to my B5. Mounting bolts came with the package I bought.
I live in Monaco, but am currently in Bonn Germany for a few weeks with my S4. I am having trouble finding a workshop who will install the brakes. They all say that the brakes are not TUV approved for my car. I might end up having them installed by my ex Audi mechanic in Monaco
Where are you located ?

Cool. Thanks for the info. Stocks will overheat worse that Reds, but you should try carbotech or
hawks.
Far better. Absolutely no offense intended, but EBC's suck in all colors.
If you are in Bonn, you may want to head over the the Nurburgring (30-40 minutes SW of you). Go for a drive (check the schedule before you go) and there are plenty of shops that could do the work for you in the ring park across from the track. Try Manthey Racing first.
Cheers,
