Default (My/RS4/S4) Engine mounts ...............

Here are my original engine mounts out of my 2002 S4. It seems these are the RS4 P/Ns (8D0199379AD). What is odd, however, is that they have the Brown color code, which matches to 8D0199379Q - I don't know what car the Q's are for.

Here are the new, Audi OEM, Avon, S4 mounts I put in (8D0199379K)

Here are 4 of the Hamburg-Technic mounts I accidentally ended up with (8D0199379K). Notice the inconsistancy that the far left one comes with the rubber cover, but the others did not:

Here's HT and Avon, side by side:

HT on left. Notice Avon has that apparent ball-valve

HT on left (same writing / P/Ns):

Default RS4 Mounts use the same casting, but as long s they have the part number printed on the side...

they are in fact RS4 mounts. You will notice that the HT mounts are in fact massively softer, just flex the top stud sideways and then try it on an Avon RS4 mount. I brought a set of HT mounts and Avon mounts to the SAC GTG and a few people got a chance to compare, not so good for the HT mounts.

Cheers,

Mark, what were the symptoms of your tired mounts?

Default On mine, I replaced due to the mounting bolt spinning...

And that likely happened because I persuaded it to line up as we were putting the engine in place. I should have loosened the top nut on the driver's side - that would have been enough to ease both in.

As it turned out, my old ones needed changing anyway.

Default nope, not distinguishable to me...

of course only one of mine had fluid outside, and my metal cups didn't break.
