Default VW fault code p088b - what is it?

AutoZone pulled the code(s) from my GTI and said it was air fuel something or other. No mods.

I'm in a real bind time/resource wise, so getting it to the stealership is going to be very difficult. The CEL is solid, so I assume it's safe (but not recommended) to drive for short trips...although I'd like to know exactly what I'm dealing with if any of you have the resources.

Thx

Default Is it a turbo car? Try disconnecting the MAF and see if the car performs better . . .

Default Yep, my GTI, and the car seems totally normal. The only odd behavior was a stumble...

...when accelerating from a stop while it was cold. Had three very strange shifts all in a row, like the engine was missing or something.

Default iirc, the 'b' on the end of the code means it's a temporary code.. something like that

try clearing the computer and see if it comes back. I think it throws the 'b' codes if it detects something once, but it never happens again.

Default get a vagcom scan again. those autozone codes are just generic codes. >>
