That was mistake, but following that path would be bigger one. When one battery is dead others are close. So if you buy OEM sensors, one at the time, you will spend aftermarket sensors ($160) and VCDS ($350).
How do you know that just one sensor is dead?
Have you tried to initiate sensor learning (Car > Systems > Tire Pressure System > New Wheels) from MMI?
My advice: Buy 4 aftermarket sensors and replace all of them and buy VCDS.

With VAG-COM/VCDS; other wise...
You need VAG-COM to do it, and it's easy if you have it. Otherwise, unless you are on an old version of MMI where it was once user selectable on screen, there is no other way to get rid of the light.

Here:
The hex + CAN one: http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/cat/VCDS.html Not typically sold somehow for less elsewhere and used ones don't come up all that often or at a big difference in price--which also means you can likely resell later for much of your initial outlay. The cable is essentially a dongle at the same time, so you can then download and use the software at will along with it, move it from computer to computer, etc.
