Recheck timing. If correct, you aren't cranking it long enough.

Thanks again for all of your help!! I got it running yesterday afternoon!! It was lawnmower syndrome, but I redid the timing just to clear any doughts, this time by popping the cams loose.. That is by far the best method, you get good even tension all the way around your belt. The cam bolt still didn't feel right but they do loosen in the counterclockwise direction.
