Default Best roads for a day-trip?
OK. The weather is killing me. I know the winter was mild but man, gotta get the car out and drive some good roads.

Anyone have some suggestions for good roads to drive in the Chicago-land area? I would even consider hopping the border to Wisconsin as I live on the Northside.

What kind of driving are you looking to do? Scenic or open and empty? I am in Plainfield myself and if you go west a little bit, you are alone for the most part and can open it up. I drive on rte 25 from Oswego to Aurora for work along the river and that is peaceful.

If you really want to have fun though, there will be upcoming events at the Autobahn country club for the public and you can buy a ticket for that. I plan on doing that later this year.

Starved Rock state park. the park and roads leading to it and around the IL river. look it up.
